Employment Opportunities

 Phlebotomist Part Time Position at the Herndon center

This position is responsible for preparing specimens for laboratory testing and performing screening procedures as needed.  Efficient use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is required.

 Nursing and Compliance Manager Full Time Position

He/she promotes health and wellness in the community through the provision of professional nursing care at HealthWorks for Northern Virginia including patient triage, direct patient care and patient education.   He/she provides coordination of care, oversees the smooth day to day operations as it affects the clinical staff and clinical services.  Provides overall supervision of his/her teams of nursing staff.

Qualifications: Current Commonwealth of Virginia Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license required.  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution preferred.  Minimum of three years of family practice clinical experience at an acute care or ambulatory setting required.  Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.  Community health center experience highly preferred. BLS required.  Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

  Medical Front Desk Receptionist  2 Full Time Positions at the Leesburg and Herndon centers

This position is responsible for patient customer service in a medical care environment.

High School Diploma or GED required. Exemplary customer service skills required. Medical appointment scheduling, knowledge of medical terminology and experience with electronic medical record (EMR) required.

One year of clinical office experience required. Public health or community health experience is a plus. Must enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent customer service skills.

Due to patient population, Bilingual English/Spanish skills are required.

 Central Scheduler Full Time Position at the Reston center

Highly visible position having a great deal of customer/staff contact and interaction. Alongside the Front Desk Specialists, this position is responsible for appointment scheduling for all centers, updating patient personal information and insurance verification using the EMH/EMR. The Central Scheduler works with the clinic staff to optimize the providers’ ability to serve patients. The Central Scheduler should also be able to efficiently maintain the operation of the LCHC registration, check-in procedures and the intake of patients. This is a customer service position, critical in maintaining a positive, supportive relationship with the team, patients and the larger community.

Qualifications/Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree preferred. Recent work experience in a health care setting required. Must have a positive history of work attendance and punctuality. Proficient computer skills and exemplary customer service skills required. Fluency in Spanish required. Medical appointment scheduling, knowledge of medical terminology and experience with Electronic Health Record preferred. All staff is expected to function within a collaborative team practice model, supporting the efforts of the other employees. Cultural competence and experience required.

 Behavioral Health Clinician Part Time Position at the Herndon center

This position provides comprehensive behavioral health assessment, case management, consultation and individual and group support for a wide range of behavioral health issues in a community health center setting. This position functions as a core member of a collaborative care team that involves the patient’s primary care provider, consulting psychiatrists, nursing staff, other behavioral health providers and/or center staff.


  • Successful Master’s level education in a field such as social work or professional counseling;
  • Current Commonwealth of Virginia behavioral health licensure required to include LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LPC-Licensed Professional Counselor, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist strongly preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience working with clients in a community based setting preferred.

 Nurse Care Coordinator Full Time Position at the Reston center

Responsible for providing coordinated, patient-centered care. Responsible for coordinating care for the complex needs of patients with chronic conditions. This will included providing coordination of care, clinical support, patient education and continuous care. Nurse Care Coordinator works as part of a nursing care team serving patients of all ages in a comprehensive health care environment which includes dental and behavioral health care

Qualifications: Current Commonwealth of Virginia Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license. Completion of a nursing program from an accredited institution required. Minimum of two years clinical experience at an acute care or ambulatory setting preferred. Community or public health experience highly preferred. BLS required. Must be able to work independently, have demonstrated patient care planning and patient teaching skills, and strong written and verbal skills. English/Spanish fluency preferred.

 Medical Assistant Full Time Positions at the Reston and Leesburg centers

Responsible for assisting with and providing safe, consistent, and appropriate patient care support to providers. MAs work as part of our nursing care teams, serving patients of all ages in a complete health care environment which includes primary medical and dental care.

Medical Assistant Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of a certified Medical Assistant program. Current CPR/BLS required. Minimum of one (1) year of family practice or pediatric clinical experience at an acute care or ambulatory setting required. Community health or public health experience preferred.

Due to patient population, Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.

 Staff Physician Part Time Position at the Herndon center

Responsible for comprehensive primary medical care to patients in a complete health care environment which includes primary medical, dental and behavioral health care. Position offers 30 work hours per week, Monday through Friday, NO WEEKENDS.


Current Commonwealth of Virginia medical licensure required. Must be Board Certified in Family Medicine. Current DEA licensure required. Must enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent clinical skills. Proficient computer and EMR skills required. Bilingual skills a plus.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are an integral part of the HealthWorks team. We ask volunteers to commit to volunteer three times a month for at least six months. All volunteers are required to have a background check, TB test, flu shot and up to date immunizations.
